Louisville Family Photographer: Pretty Pretty Product
Friday, May 27th, 2011Headshots!
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011I’ve just been sitting in the studio huddled around the heater doing an anti-rain dance. It occurred to me that I don’t ever really post any of the corporate headshots I shoot in the studio. I don’t know why I don’t, they just never make it to the blog. So I’ll throw some up here on the blog today!
Say hello to some of the lovely people from New Washington Bank!
If you’re in need of some head shots for your staff or yourself, contact me to set up an appointment.
New Albany Family Photography: Spring and Easter Portrait Clothing
Saturday, March 5th, 2011It’s no secret that Etsy is an addiction of mine. Once I get on there… I just can’t stop! So many cute items for me, kids, ANYONE! Most recently I was on there doing a little shopping for clothes for the kids for spring and Easter, I knew I couldn’t buy all of them (my husband would kick me out of the house!) so I thought I’d pass on some of the adorableness your way! Helping the Louisville Free Public Library!
Thursday, September 10th, 2009Back in August when Louisville got slammed with some quick and heavy rainfall, one of the casualties was the downtown branch of the Louisville Free Public Library. (click here to see images of the flooding and damage!)
While it’s true, I don’t live in Louisville and can’t utilize this library, it still hurts my heart. As a kid, my mom, sister and I spent lots of time during the summer in our local library, enjoying the air conditioning, participating in the summer reading program, story hours, plays etc. My mom worked hard to instill a love of and appreciation for books and reading. I consider myself to be an excellent reader, and while my own children take up much of my free time anymore, when possible I like to get my hands on a book. When my husband and I were dating, many of our date nights consisted of evenings spent at the book store, perusing the clearance racks and making wish lists, we’d go to the home and garden section and look at books and talk about our future home, I’d giggle nervously as we walked past the adult ‘self-improvement’ section, we’d snag classics at discounted price to begin building our future children’s library. Books were important to me then, and they are now. I owe a lot of that to that time spent at the library. Without the library, I would never have been able to get my hands on as many books as I did. I would check out 10 books at a time and be back a week later for more.
As my children are growing and my son on the verge of reading, it warms me to see his passion for books, just like his father and I. For birthdays and Christmas, we typically request family members who’d like to celebrate with us that they consider gifting a copy of their favorite book as opposed to a plastic, new toy from Target.
So needless to say, when I learned about the damage that had been done to the library and saw how others were already organizing efforts to raise money, I contacted my friend Michelle of ConsumingLouisville.com. She was putting together a bake-sale to raise money. I told her I would donate a portrait package for her to use as she saw fit. She has, in her infinite wisdom, placed the portrait package up for auction at ConsumingLouisville.com. So hop on over there and place your bid, you’ll be helping the library and get some awesome pictures in the end!
Louisville Portrait, Boudoir and Wedding Photography: Pretty, Pretty Packaging
Tuesday, May 5th, 2009I’m a sucker for good looking packaging and wrapping. When it’s Christmas or birthday time, watch out, most likely you’ll find me at the center of a ribbon and paper frenzy!
I won’t deny that I get all excited and giddy when it comes time to prepare prints or albums for client pick-up. Here’s a peak at how I package my Little Black Books from Boudoir Sessions.

The albums are wrapped in black tissue paper then black ribbon and sealed with a round stickers. I also tuck a couple business cards inside.

In every one of my orders I include a thank you note. Just a simple note thanking them for their business, letting them know if they need anything else please contact me, and explaining my referral program.

Finally, the lid goes on with one more bigger label on top.
If you’re interested in where I purchased any of these products, I’ve put together a list below.
Black Tissue Paper- Nashville Wraps
Black Ribbon- Hobby Lobby
Round Stickers- Kitty CrossBones.
Business Cards- WHCC
Personalized Notes- Vista Print

Cans For Comments!
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009Last year I participated in Cans For Comments, and while managed to snag 8 comments, this year I’m hoping to get a lot more!
In case you’re not familiar with Cans For Comments, here’s the rundown, professional photographers from all over the country have a dedicated blog post for people to leave comments, and for every comment on that post, we will donate one canned good to charity! If anyone had any doubts about there still being a great need for help like this, let me share a little tidbit of information with you! A local organization, Interfaith Community Council, recently disclosed that in the past during this time of year, they have around 80 families apply for assistance, this year? OVER 300!!! I know I have been blessed in so many ways and what an opportunity to help others! The last day for comments will be December 14th so I have time to get the cans and drop them off! Plus, anyone who books a portrait or boudoir session, I’ll donate and extra $10 in can goods!
It’s a fun way to network, check out new people, and do some good. So leave me a comment and let’s stock these food pantries!
