Mrs. W is one awesome chic. She’s a Derby City Rollergirl, supa-geek, and friendly as can be.

I can’t really say anything else about how awesome she is, just take a look for yourself!

Day 3 of the Photographer Smackdown with my girl Lana. Her pick for today was “This is What Life Looks Like”

She and I went two totally different ways with this one, which I think totally makes these types of things so much fun.

This image shows one of the top comforting bible verses. A friend sent it to me a few weeks ago and wow did it jump out. I’ve gotten it written down and a copy in my wallet, a copy on my nightstand and the email starred. This is encouragement, this is comfort, This is life.

My pick for today’s theme is “In The Thick Of It”

The theme for todays photo is ‘Round The House, picked by yours truly.

Here’s my entry.

Photographer Throwdown

June 29, 2009

My pal Lana, a fellow photographer, (check her out over at Cease Fire Studios ) contacted me last week about doing a daily photography challenge.

Basically we take turns coming up with a theme, then we each take a photo that represents our spin or interpretation of the theme.

I like this idea because as someone who photographs people primarily, sometimes I loose touch with photographing inanimate objects.

The challenge starts today, Monday, and will go through the end of the week. Be sure to stop by mine and Lana’s blogs and let us know who you think captured it best!

Oh yeah, bring it Lana, bring it!!!

Monday: Color My World!

Head on over and take a look, and thanks to Kat for having fabulous taste and finding some of the coolest weddings and couples out there!

I Need Your Help!

June 27, 2009

As many of you know, I am an affiliated photographer with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, an organization in which photographers donate their time to families who don’t get to take their babies home from the hospital.

As both my children spent precious time in the NICU, one being very touch and go for a while, this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart.

Please don’t misunderstand, this is a very, very hard thing to do. People often ask me, “How do you not just cry through the whole thing”. Umm I do. I cry the whole drive to the hospital and silently cry throughout the session. However, I firmly believe that God lifts the burden from my heart upon leaving the session. Otherwise, there is absolutely no way I could continue doing this.

OK, here’s where we need your help, there are only 5 photographers in the Kentuckiana area who have agreed to give their time and talents to this organization, with a combined population of over 1 million people, it’s just not working. All 5 of us have families, jobs and other outside commitments. We need some more people. BAD!

The area coordinator, Courtney Lambert, has posted some more information over on her blog, please visit her blog, courtneylambertphotography.blogspot.com , and look to your heart, your God, wherever and see if this is a cause you can help!

Remember my post from Ryan and Tiffany before? Here’s some of the rest, aren’t they just adorable?

My absolute favorite

Purely for my own entertainment, sorry Mersh!

Tiffani contacted me to take pictures of her day old son Everett, for a First 48 Hours Session, meeting his 3 siblings for the first time. Talk about a full room! 4 kiddos all under the age of 5!

The reaction of everyone was just priceless. They all wanted to love on the baby and were so gentle. Tiffani told me she was so happy she thought ahead of time to book a First 48 Hours package as she’ll never have these moments back. Welcome to the world Sweet Everett.

Remember a couple weeks ago where I talked about how much I love packaging? Well I also love supporting and buying handmade, so it’s not surprise that one of my favorite shopping websites is www.etsy.com.

You need to follow her blog too, there she offers a “lovely of the week” as well as sales, previews and interviews with other handmade artisans!

A couple weeks ago I ordered this gorgeous necklace and from Maizie Designs. She also sent a pair of matching earrings. I LOVE them. In addition to them being wonderfully handcrafted, they are the exact color of my logo and branding.

When I got the package in the mail I could hardly stand it! She is a girl after my own heart, her packaging was so perfect!

Take a look.

Alright other clients, no pressure but these two brought it! Adorable and so very sweetly in love from their head to their toes. They were willing to climb up to the top of the stage in Central Park and stand in the middle of a road while the crazies surrounded us!

Can’t wait for the wedding in October!
